Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

  2. Submission of the Extended Abstract is free of charge and must be completed by February 23, 2026, through the scientific journal Diálogos em Gerontologia. (Annex II – Submission tutorial).
  3. Abstracts must meet the following criteria:
  4. Abstracts will be accepted in Portuguese, Spanish, English, or Italian, from researchers affiliated with Brazilian or foreign higher education institutions.
  5. Each abstract may have a maximum of six co-authors;
  6. The same person may not submit more than two abstracts, even in co-authorship;
  7. Abstracts must address themes related to the event topics and follow the formatting guidelines below:
  • Word document, A4 size, using Times New Roman font throughout the text.
  • Single line spacing, with top and left margins of 3 cm and bottom and right margins of 2 cm; Times New Roman font, size 12, with one line space between paragraphs and no indentation.
  • Ensure that the complete document, including figures, images, formulas, illustrations, graphs, or tables (if applicable), contains between 2 and 5 pages, even if the maximum character limit has not been reached.
  • Event abstract template.
  1. The formatting and criteria for extended abstracts must follow the journal’s standards described in the submission guidelines. (Annex I – template – available for download );
  2. The deadline for submitting extended abstracts is February 23, 2026;
  3. Approved papers will be published on March 20, 2026;
  4. Authors will be invited to participate in a future publication in the format of a scientific article, according to formatting guidelines that will be provided after the event.
