Reviewer Guidelines – Diálogos em Gerontologia Journal
The Diálogos em Gerontologia journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, ensuring confidentiality between authors and reviewers, as well as impartiality in the editorial process. To ensure the quality and efficiency of the reviews, we kindly ask reviewers to observe the following guidelines:
1. Confidentiality and Impartiality
The identity of both authors and reviewers will remain confidential throughout the process. Reviewers are expected to declare any potential conflict of interest and abstain from reviewing the manuscript if impartiality could be compromised.
2. Review Deadlines
To ensure timely editorial decisions, we ask that reviewers submit their review within 15 calendar days after accepting the invitation. In case of significant discrepancies between reviewers, a third evaluation will be requested.
3. Accepting the Review Request
The reviewer will receive an email invitation to assess a manuscript. Upon accepting the task, the system will grant access to the manuscript and the review form. If the reviewer is unable to complete the task within the requested timeframe, we ask that the invitation be declined promptly to allow reassignment.
4. Manuscript Evaluation
Suggestions, comments, and observations should be inserted directly into the manuscript document, preferably using the “Track Changes” or “Comments” function in Word. Feedback should be constructive, technical, and respectful, aimed at improving the manuscript.
5. Completion of the Review Form
The evaluation must be recorded through the OJS Review Form, in which the reviewer must justify their recommendation and include comments addressed to the editor and/or authors. The available recommendations include:
-
Accept without modifications;
-
Accept with minor revisions;
-
Resubmit after revisions;
-
Reject.
The final decision will be made by the Editorial Board based on the reviewers’ evaluations.
We sincerely thank you for your collaboration. Your contribution is essential to maintaining the scientific rigor and editorial quality of the Diálogos em Gerontologia journal.
